Dangerous Embrace #Playlist Track 2

From the Dangerous Embrace Playlist

Sarah Jennings doesn’t believe in true love. She doesn’t believe in soul mates, and the idea of marriage makes her itch. These things are myths. Disney fairy tales don’t exists. There is no such thing as prince charming or happily ever after.

She’s perfectly happy being alone. After everything she’s been through, she has no reason to believe that love is worth a damn. Which is why, when Mark Summors enters her life, she’s not sure what to do with these new feelings she’s having. She likes being his friend, she even likes sleeping with him, but when he tells her he loves her, it’s more than she bargained for.

It’s not until she’s alone again that she realizes just how big of an impact he has made in her life. She’s completely confused by her feelings. She misses him, but considering the way she was raised, missing people has become a way of life for her.

This time is different, much more intense than anything she’s ever felt.

So…what are these feelings that are slowly ripping her heart out?

Could it be love?

Sarah finds herself on the beach, nursing a broken heart, and completely confused.

This is the song that best represents her, the scene, and her feelings at that moment.

Miles Away (Acoustic) by Years Around The Sun

Lyrics to Miles Away (Acoustic) :

we watch the light
as it set from the sun
all the ways we could run
all the ways we could run
oh my, can you see the light
from outer space?

what was said what was done
as the time had a ride
all the ways we could run
all the things we could try
oh my, could you tell me
where this is going to lead?

and all the lights are shining on the sea
as the rolling waves crash along the beach

and our minds were meant to sail
take a rest from our thoughts
take a brake from this world
and we’ll feel miles away
from the places that we used to be

as we lay in the sand
and we stare at the sky
watch the moon dancing why
as the stars latch your eyes
oh my, there’s no place on earth
i’d rather be
in my eye this night just don’t
feel real
but i can feel your touch
promise you won’t let go

and our minds were meant to sail
take a rest from our thoughts
take a brake from this world
and we’ll feel miles away
from the places that we used to be

and our minds were meant to sail
take a rest from our thoughts
take a brake from this world
and we’ll feel miles away
from the places that we used to be

This song has two very different versions and I think Sarah fits nicely somewhere between the two. Which is why I’m including both versions in this post.

Here is the original song. Different sound, different lyrics…

Lyrics to Miles Away (Original) :

We trailed the light as it set from the sun
all the ways that we run all the ways that we run
oh my can you see the light from outer space

What was done what was said at the scene of the crime
all the ways that we run all the things that we tried
oh my can you tell me where this is gonna lead

And all the lights are shining on the screen
and the radio waves they crash on me

And our minds were meant to sail
there’s no rest for these thoughts
there’s no peace from this hell
and we feel miles away from the places that we used to be

In this room full of stares I can’t take all these eyes
there’s no place I can run there’s no place I can hide
oh my I can see the lies in front of me

and my these thoughts seem all to real
but if they tear so much how come I can’t let go

And our minds were meant to sail
there’s no rest for our thoughts
there’s no peace from this hell
and we feel miles away from the places that we used to be

This goes on and on in my restless head
felt like I was dreaming as I lay in my bed
Go on you go on you go on

And all your life you had the chance to break the chains of circumstance
