That’s right, I’m home alone and the house is quiet. I love my family but I also enjoy the peacefulness of my empty house when they’re out. I think I’ll take Darksculptures’ advice and live in the moment. I’m going to curl up in my chair with my laptop, warm blanket, a hot cup of tea and hopefully some inspiration for a story. Wish me luck!

  1. I hope you enjoyed your quiet evening! BTW, what do you think of the Browne & King book? I asked to have the county’s one copy sent to my branch library and should get it in a couple of days.

  2. I like it. I’m learning to ‘look at the big picture’. 🙂 Between reading this book and doing critiques on Critique Circle I’ll someday be able to edit with a smart eye.
At the end of every chapter they give you a checklist for editing and exercises which sometimes included editing well know works of fiction. That’s a little intimidating but they also give the answers to the exercises so you can see what changes they made and why.

  3. I so hope you enjoyed your quiet time. I took some time for myself yesterday as well. Not that I was alone, but I abandoned the world long enough to cherish the healing power of love that my husband so selflessly gives with each embrace.

I can’t wait to get more involved with CC. First I must learn to write. Then I’ll learn to edit. You will be so seasoned by then, I’ll be relying on your words of wisdom heavily.

  4. I hope you had a nice time alone. You know, it’s funny because I am home alone all day, every day, and it gets really lonely sometimes. The grass is always greener, I suppose.
