Happy Endings #Giveaway Hop #HEGiveaway

happyendingsAnother bloghop, another giveaway! Welcome to stop #4 on the Happy Endings Giveaway hop organized by Reading Romances!
Happy endings are a must have for me regardless of the genre I’m reading. Of course my first choice is always romance, but sometimes I’ll pick up the occasional thriller or mystery novel. Happy ending is still required.

My debut novel, Dangerous Embrace, starts out rough, and I put my characters through hell, but they fight throughout for the great ending. Read below for an excerpt and synopsis. I hope you like it.

Here is what people on Amazon are saying about Dangerous Embrace:

“Great, fast-paced romantic thriller that will keep you turning the pages!” Queen B

“I started reading this book the minute it came in the mail and I could not put it down!” roberdea66

“Dangerous Embrace is so much more than a romantic suspense story. It’s a story about strength, courage and overcoming one’s fears and being able to trust again and move forward.” Deannad414

DangerousEmbrace.inddSarah Jennings wants nothing more than a quiet life—alone.
Raised by an eccentric mother, their life on the road only taught her how to run away from hard times. But when she finds herself in an abusive relationship, this lesson serves her well.

Now, back in her hometown, she’s found a place she loves. She’s a first grade teacher, and with few friends and less family around, she has what she wants, a quiet life under the radar where she can be free of her past and live quietly. Finally comfortable in her own skin, she’s settled, and less fearful than she’s ever been in her life.

But it only takes one night and one act of violence for everything to change. Injured and afraid, Sarah wants to run again, but Mark Summors refuses to let her go.

Just when Sarah thinks she can have Mark and the life he promises, her past comes back to haunt her.

Mark Summors was born and raised in Santa Rosa. He married his high school sweetheart and never questioned his life, until he found his wife with another man.

Now divorced, he wants something more. He’s passionate about his job, he wants to protect people, and he devotes his life to it.

This time he’s protecting more than just another client, he’s protecting his future; at least, Sarah Jennings will be his future, once he convinces her she loves him.

If you want to read Mark and Sarah’s happy ending, you can find Dangerous Embrace on Amazon, Amazon UK, Barnes and Noble and Smashwords.

When she exited the freeway in Santa Rosa, she drove through town toward her house instead of his. “I have to pick something up at my house.” She felt calmer now. The few moments of silence gave her a chance to plan. “This won’t take long. You can wait here if you want.” She jumped out of the car and ran into the house.
Sarah rushed to her closet, but then turned and paced, her agitation growing with every turn of the room. She had to leave. Kevin would kill her when he found her; it was there in his eyes. She wasn’t in any doubt about this fact. She stopped pacing and stared down at her engagement ring, and at the same time, tears dropped from her eyes.
One way or another, she was going to lose everything.
“What are you doing?”
Sarah jumped at the tone in Mark’s voice. Without turning to look at him, she went back to her closet to grab a shoulder bag. “He’s going to kill us both if I don’t leave.”
“Sarah, what are you doing? You promised you wouldn’t do this to me again.” He grabbed her left hand and spun her as he held it up. “You agreed to marry me.”
She stared at the floor, unable to respond. What else could she do? It wasn’t just her life to lose this time. Mark, Jamie, they were both in danger now too. He’d kill them just like he killed Charlie. If she left, Kevin would come after her and Mark would be safe. She could hide again. She’d managed to hide from him until now, and she could do it again.

  2. Dangerous Embrace sounds great. I’m a sucker for a happy ending. My favorite happy ending is between two – Jude Deveraux’ A Knight in Shining Armor and Nicholas Sparks’ Safe Haven

    1. I’m a sucker for a happy ending too. 🙂 I’ll check out the Jude Deveraux book! I banned Nicholas Sparks from my TBR list after reading The Choice. That book was just too much. 🙂

  3. One of my favorites is Sweet Lullaby by Lorraine Heath. I read it years ago but I still love it.
    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  4. I don’t have just one favorite HEA book but one of mine is Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen. This is just such a sweet book and you fall in love with the characters. I would recommend it to everyone.

    thank you for the giveaway.

  5. One of my all time favorite Happy Ending series are any of the Janette Oke Love Comes Softly books. (Definitely the books, not the movies!)

  6. wow I soo want to read this, thanks for the giveaway. I am a sucker for happy endings..I think we all truly want them. My children laugh because it is nothing for them to see me sniffling at the end of a book or a good movie and their question “why are you crying” my response “it is just such a happy ending”…of course it garners eye rolls

  7. I couldn’t think of my favorite since all of HEA is my favorite. Beauty and the Beast perhaps? Because Belle got the prince, and the castle, and the library in it. 😀

  8. Definitely “Outlander” by Diana Gabaldon. I feel like it ends perfectly; a sex scene in a hot spring and the girl telling the guy she’s pregnant. It could’ve been a standalone book like that, but Gabaldon thought better to make a series.

  9. I love books with Happy Ever Afters! I love Nicholas Sparks and A.L. Jackson’s books, Night Road by Kristen Hannah and Smoke Jumper by Nicholas Evans. All of those books are kind of intense but have happy ever after endings

    1. I stopped reading Nickolas Sparks after The Choice. That one ripped my heart out. AL Jackson is one of my favorites, and she’s my pub sister so I love her too. Thanks for stopping by, Dione!

  10. Hi, Dana! I love happy endings and won’t read a book without one, except for Gone With The Wind. I don’t have a favorite one.

  11. That’s a hard question, I love HEA endings. So I will give you my HEA. My HEA is my husband. He lets me drag him to all kinds of things. We did hula dancing, crystal mining, ride trip going to Roswell New Mexico. He does the landuary and will cook. Don’t I have a super sweet guy, uh huh, yes I do. And we’ve been married for 22 years. I am really enjoying this Happy Ending Blog. roya-clan@sbcglobal.net
