Friday Flash 55 #11

“You missed a spot.” Carla said.

“What are you talking about?” He asked wide eyed. “Every Christmas light in town is on our house, I bought out the store.” Bill said.

Carla sighed, “What am I going to do with you?”

“I followed your diagram perfectly.”

“No, look at the garage door.”

He slapped his forehead. “UGH!”

  • This makes me miss the years I was commuting from NC to Los Angeles. CA seems to do more over-the-top Halloween and Christmas decor than other places I’ve lived — although with all due respect, the folks in MA who decorate like crazy get extra credit because generally the wind chill factor and/or freezing rain make the process more challenging.

I’m gonna hang some ornaments and lights on the palm trees and be grateful that it’s warm here.

    • When we first bought our house we went all out with the decorations every year. Now we try to be more conservative due to the cost of electricity in CA. We always spend an evening driving around to look at other houses though.
We’ve had a cold snap this week, it got down to about 25…burr, reminds me of the last Spring I spent in Alaska, only no shoveling snow. 🙂

      • Cold here (relatively) too. I shower outdoors (one of the many pleasures of living near the beach) when it’s above freezing and there’s no lightning — this morning was a leetle too close to the edge for me and I’m still warming up from it. (Yes, my outdoor shower has hot water — I’m not a complete idiot though sometimes I feel like one.)

  • I’m especially enjoying all the Christmas lights and decorations this year.

Your 55 words are spot on. I’m sure some folks simply try to fill every inch of their property with anything they can find that lights or blows up.

I hope with all my heart that you’re enjoying the pre-Christmas joys in your own special way.

  • I am enjoying the holiday season. Thank you!
We have some neighbors that do this for every holiday. You should see the huge spider they put on their roof for Halloween.

  • Oh I love this! This reminds me of the first Christmas I had in my first owned home. I had so many lights on that house it’s a wonder the roof didn’t catch fire.

Thank you for this reminder of how fearless I was then. Now I would most likely be standing gaurd all night with a fire extinquisher. LOL When did I turn into such a worry wart?
