Sorry I’ve been missing in action. I was having a few (read MANY) problems with WordPress and I see no point in posting when my blog isn’t working correctly. Thanks for hanging in there for me.
A few things have happened over the last few weeks. First, and foremost…Dangerous Embrace was PUBLISHED! 🙂 Yes, I’m thrilled that it’s finally out there. The reviews have been fantastic, I couldn’t be happier with them. If you’ve had the chance to read it, I hope you’ll let me know what you think.
Here is one of me and my sister, Michelle. This is after I had to send her away for getting teary eyed. When she seemed able to hold it together, I let her back in.
The following Saturday, we had a huge release party at Michelle’s house. It was a blast…at least what I remember was fun. 🙂 My sister got teary eyed again, but I let her this time. She also made everyone else cry with a very tender and heartfelt toast.
Once we got that out-of-the-way, we really started to party. Michelle lives about 5 miles outside of town, her only neighbor is a huge fruit stand that closes at 5:00, of course that meant we could make all the noise we wanted.
We had an open bar. These two ladies, Stephany and Jessica, were the Dangerous Embrace bartenders.
Can you guess what the signature drink was? That’s right, the Sapphire Star Martini!
And, yes, I was very nervous knowing that all my friends were going to leave with book in hand–with every intention of reading it. It’s hard to put yourself out there like that. Online is different because you’re still somewhat anonymous, but when you know ALL of your friends and family are going to read your fairly graphic romance novel, it’s sort of like walking through a party naked. All I could do was throw my hands in the air and say, oh well, there’s no turning back now.
I did curve my nerves with a few drinks. This one…
…really helped make me forget. I went to the bathroom and came back to this waiting for me. I think Jessica had a little fun with it. It certainly wasn’t a drink for the faint of heart.
Here are a few other various pictures from the party. This one here is of me and my girls. They were there to ‘manage me’. Apparently I can’t make conversation, sign books, and collect money at the same time.
Last but not least, the Dangerous Embrace cake. This was a champagne cake that was so good it nearly melted in your mouth. It was beautiful too.
It’s been a fantastic couple of weeks.
So…what do I do now?
What else, but get busy on book two. Look for Precious Embrace in July 2013. That works for me, July had always been a great month for me.
