April 1st update

It’s been a long and crazy week. I have several things on my agenda and often need to remind myself that I can only do one thing at a time. It’s slow going when there are so many things that require so much time.

Of course it’d be easier if I knew how to design a webpage…and it’d be easier if I knew a few things about advertising. This should hint to my struggles this week. I’m trying like crazy to make some sort of a decent site for people to visit, I just can’t seem to find the right mix. On that note, if this page changes dramatically over the next week or so, bare with me. I’ll try to get it worked out soon.

My next challenge…a slogan. If you look at the top of the page, you see a phrase under my name. What do you think? It’s one of many versions, none of which have really please me. This one is my favorite at the moment but I may have a new favorite by morning.

Writing is going well, and editing is also. All of this other stuff going on in my life is just cracks in the pavement, adding some texture to the smooth surface.

If you haven’t already, feel free to check out my Facebook page and Twitter site.

  • Good morning, Dana! Love your update and your blog redesign, especially the swirls at the top: very nifty! Sounds like you’re tying yourself into knots coming up with the perfect design for your blog. My advice: Chill! Your blog looks great, and it’s accessible, and with time, you’ll try new things and widgets and what have you, and you’ll find something that works. I’m no expert on blogging at all (in fact, when I was told last summer that I needed a blog, my reaction was: what on earth is a blog?) but I’ve kind of gotten the hang of it (I think) as I went along. You’re doing great things, just keep tweaking it and see what works for you. XX RE Slogan… wow, that’s a big one. I like what you have up there! But if you’re looking for further refinement, here’s a thought. If someone asked you what kind of books you write, how would you answer? I write books that…. or I write books about… Or i write romance that… Maybe that’ll help. Or maybe it won’t. I bet the perfect slogan will come to you in the middle in the night, and you’ll know ‘this is it.” Good luck, and keep posting: I love visiting!

    • Aw…Nicky! Thanks so much for the advice. I appreciate it more than I can say.
I think my biggest problem is being indecisive and picky at the same time. 🙂
I love your blog. I love the Rock Star theme and I love how you’ve woven that theme into your posts. I’m going to keep chugging along until I’m happy with the results.Honestly, if these are my biggest problems then I’m doing okay.

What do you think about this for a slogan:
      Life. Love. Second Chances.

      • Aww, bless you for your kind words! 🙂 I like your new slogan, that’s got zing and panache. Roll with it for a while and see what you feel. XX

  • I like Life. Love. Second Chances.

ding ding ding! Feels like a winner to me.
