About Dana

Dana Mason is happily settled in a small valley amongst the California grapevines with her husband and three children. Author of the romantic suspense, Embrace Series, she’s written about a group of friends from Northern California who learn just how short life can be when you don’t hold on to what’s important. Second chances don’t come easy…but sometimes love is worth the risk.

When not writing, Dana specializes in professional development and training. She’s also a board member on the local Art’s Council and does what she can to support the art community.

Okay, so that’s the official bio, but read below if you really want the goods on me.

I love cheeseburgers.
If you want to see me smile, put a skinny vanilla latte in my hands–oh but don’t forget the extra shot of espresso.
I hate wearing shoes during the summer.
I love the color blue, particularly dark shades, think midnight, navy or even a slate blue, but nothing wimpy like baby blue.
I love the ocean and the beach, but the mountain air is always refreshing too, especially in the redwoods.
If you haven’t guessed already, I’m a California girl through and through.
I’m not outdoorsy, I don’t do the camping thing unless it’s in a motorhome or motel room.
I’m madly in love with my husband. It’s true. He’s my honest to God, true life hero. He’s my rock, my home and he owns my heart.

I have three kids. Two beautiful daughters who couldn’t be more different. One is my clone, the other is more like me in spirit than she’d ever admit. I also have a little boy who is growing much too fast. He’s a clone of my husband and if it weren’t for the green eyes, I’d think he wasn’t mine at all.

We are all huge San Francisco Giants fans. We go to at least one game a year and that’s always a Giants vs. Dodgers game.

Let’s see…what am I forgetting? Oh! That’s right, I’m a fangirl…:) See my obsession below.

Gavin & Dana Cropped Aug 2013

A few years ago I was looking for a singer to use as a model for a character. I researched many singers, including Gavin. That’s when I fell in love. Watching videos, interviews, getting to know more about him, you can’t help but fall in love. He’s such a sweet person. Funny, charming, cute, nice and I mean genuinely nice. There is a reason I’ve had so many chances to meet him, he’s accessible to his fans. He makes a point of it. Once I got to know the person behind the voice, I had no doubt who I wanted to use as the model for my character. Hopefully one of these days, you’ll get to know that character too.
